Injuries have been plaguing the Real Madrid squad this season, with a number of key players facing spells out on the sidelines over the course of the campaign.

But things are starting to ease up for Carlo Ancelotti & co., with more and more players starting to return from their injuries.

Prior to the mid-season break, Real Madrid recovered Aurelien Tchouameni, and now more players are expected to be back in the days to come.

Three players to return vs Mallorca

Indeed, as per journalist Alberto Pereiro, Real Madrid will recover as many as three players for the game against Mallorca right after the Christmas break.

Los Blancos face Mallorca in their first game of 2024 and will now be boosted by the return of as many as three players.

As has been reported already, Eduardo Camavinga is expected to be ready to return for Real Madrid against Mallorca.

Along with him, two more stars – Arda Guler and Dani Carvajal – are also pencilled to make their comebacks for the Merengues, which will be a welcome boost.

The potential return of Guler will be watched closely, with the 18-year-old still waiting to make his debut since joining the club in the summer. Back-to-back injuries over the past few months are bound to have affected his fitness and it will be interesting to see how he fares.

In more good news, the recovery of Brazilian defender Eder Militao has been going very well. So much so that the centre-back, who is recuperating from an ACL injury, could be back in late March or early April.

It will be a great boost for Real Madrid to have Militao back in the squad for the final run-in, especially with David Alaba being ruled out with an ACL injury as well.

As for Thibaut Courtois, his recovery from the ACL rupture is going more slowly than Militao’s for now.

It must also be noted that Vinicius Jr. has also stepped up his recovery and is expected to be back in time for next month’s Spanish Super Cup.

Speaking in an interview with Sport BILD (h/t AS), Germany legend Michael Ballack has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid.

Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have been closely monitoring for a while now, with the German sensation being seen as a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement yesterday.

A move for Wirtz is being planned for the summer of 2025 and Ballack believes that the Bundesliga title winner with Leverkusen is ready for the big move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Wirtz is ready for Real Madrid,” said Ballack.

“In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it in Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB: when you play with even better players, you become even better,” he added.

Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen that runs until the summer of 2027. As things stand, the new German champions have no intentions of selling their prized asset this year.

However, there appears to be an acceptance that the German international will be on the move in 2025.

Other top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested, but Real Madrid are likely to beat them in the race should it come down to that next year.

A move for Wirtz, though, could cost in excess of €100 million for Real Madrid should they do indeed decide to proceed with his signing next year.
