Real Madrid trio still uncertain about renewing due to game-time concerns

Journalist Guillermo Rai has affirmed via The Athletic that Real Madrid have already offered contract renewals to the likes of Marco Asensio and Nacho, while a certain Dani Ceballos is expected to receive one too.
As it turns out, however, the trio is still uncertain regarding their playing time next season, hence the delay in signatures. The journalist adds that while the players have established Madrid as an absolute priority, they have their fair share of doubts because of their lack of minutes.
Any decision regarding their future will be made by the players themselves. Furthermore, considering the interest they have generated, finding a resolution is going to be quite difficult, even for the players.
We have reported before that Asensio is a subject of interest for Premier League side Aston Villa. Barcelona’s sporting director, Mateu Alemany, who is said to be joining hands with Unai Emery at Villa, wants to sign the winger and for that, they are ready to offer a lucrative contract worth €8 million per year.
It must be noted that Asensio’s deal with Real Madrid ends at the end of the season and the player has been in talks with the team for quite a long time. As of today, though, there is no progress.
Now, the winger is said to be open to Premier League experience, but right now, his priority is Real Madrid.
As far as Ceballos is concerned, Madrid have already offered a three-year contract to the midfielder, but the catch is, the new offer does not come with an increase in salary nor an improvement in his role within the team.
This is where the negotiation is stuck. Like Asensio, Ceballos wants Real Madrid but he is not willing to settle for a secondary role and the arrival of Jude Bellingham will only push him down the pecking order.

Real Madrid have offered a three-year contract to 26-year-old Spanish midfielder

According to AS, Real Madrid have sent a three-year contract offer with improved wages to Dani Ceballos and trust that the midfielder will continue at the club.
Ceballos is the last among the seven Los Blancos’ stars who entered the 2022/23 season with an expiring contract whose future is yet to be resolved.
Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio, and Karim Benzema have all left Real Madrid while Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Nacho Fernandez are all set to continue at the Santiago Bernabeu for one more year.
As such, Ceballos remains the only player whose future remains unclear at this point.
The 26-year-old Spanish international has shown that he can offer value to the team and the club and manager Carlo Ancelotti are understood to ‘love’ him and want to retain his services.
Fans, too, made their feelings about the midfielder very clear this past weekend when Real Madrid played Athletic Club, as they chanted ‘Ceballos, stay!’
The Merengues have sent in a three-year proposal to the former Real Betis ace which includes an improvement in his wages. As such, the club expect him to pen the deal and continue at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Ceballos is yet to make a decision as he is weighing up the fact that he will have to compete for a place with six other midfielders.
Indeed, Real Madrid already have Kroos, Modric, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni as competition for Ceballos. Now, they will also add Jude Bellingham to the roster, further amping up the battle for places.
Ceballos has two more offers apart from the one from Real Madrid – one from Spain and Italy each, although his former club Real Betis have not sent a proposal yet.
With the season over and less than three weeks left on his contract, it remains to be seen what the Real Madrid ace decides.
