Real Madrid will be in high spirits after overcoming Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals and securing a place in the final against Borussia Dortmund.

While the Merengues have made it a habit of reaching the final stages of this competition, their win was not easy to come about.

Indeed, if it was not for Joselu’s heroics in the dying embers of the game, an exit almost certainly loomed large.

The unlikely hero from the game has enjoyed a terrific campaign, despite not being a starter. And with the season’s summit in sight, Joselu’s future is being watched closely.

Joselu touches upon his future

During a charity padel event, part of the presentation for the Adidas PT circuit, Joselu was asked about his future at Real Madrid (h/t Mundo Deportivo).

His response, suggesting that they would “talk about that later,” indicated that his focus remained on the upcoming matches, avoiding speculation about his contract for the time being.

Despite his cautious response, Joselu expressed happiness with his current situation at Real Madrid, highlighting gratitude for the tremendous support from his family.

“I am very happy to be here. I am enjoying what has happened these days, but focused on tomorrow when we have a game.

“The congratulations that I liked the most were those of the people you have at home. Family, children, and family nearby. Everything is going well,” he commented.

Real Madrid nearing on one-year extension

While Joselu has not given much hint about his future, Los Blancos are more than happy with Joselu’s performances and intend to offer him a one-year renewal, especially after his exploits against Bayern Munich.

For a mere €1.5 million, Real Madrid possesses the option to buy Joselu from Espanyol permanently, which implies his signing will not be a complicated procedure.

According to a recent report from Defensa Central, Manchester United have set their sights on Real Madrid forward Joselu and for that, they are prepared to make a generous offer to lure him, proposing a two-year contract with an impressive salary of €5 million net per year.

Manchester United’s interest in signing Joselu has grown in recent months. His reputation has been on the rise, and United are willing to go all out to secure his signature.

At Real Madrid, the forward’s exceptional performance, particularly his two crucial goals in the European Cup semi-final against Bayern Munich, has made a significant impression.

It is said that this performance highlighted the importance of keeping a strong squad, and Joselu’s contributions have not gone unnoticed.

Real Madrid can sign him

While Joselu is currently committed to Espanyol until June 2024, Real Madrid hold a potential purchase option for him

The cost of this option is relatively low, but it is important to note that Real Madrid’s roster is quite full, with limited space for new players.

Despite this, Joselu’s previous stint in the Premier League has not been forgotten, and Manchester United remains keenly interested in bringing him back to England.

Joselu is an old-school forward who knows what it means to face some of the toughest defences in the world. He understands the challenges and the battles that come with playing at the highest level.

United love Joselu

Even if he is not guaranteed a starting position, his experience and knack for scoring goals make him a valuable addition to any team.

Manchester United see these qualities in Joselu and believes he could be a significant asset to their squad.

In England, there is talk of a lucrative two-year contract on the table for the Galician footballer. This deal would significantly boost Joselu’s salary, offering him €5 million net per year.

This substantial increase in his earnings is a key part of United’s strategy to tempt him away from Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex.

Carlo Ancelotti and his staff are very pleased with Joselu’s performance as he has proven to be more than just a team player, but there is a chance that they might still lose him this summer.
