Real Madrid want to renew key midfielder’s contract, player has the final say – report

After the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, football teams in the Middle East seem determined to add the heavyweights of the game and the recent names to be linked are that of veteran Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric and former captain Sergio Ramos.
However, if what Josep Pedrerol (h/t Bernabeu Digital) has said is true, then Real Madrid fans can see their midfield magician for another season as the team from the Spanish capital are keen on renewing Modric’s contract.
At this moment, however, nothing is concrete. That is mostly because while the aforementioned is only a message from the club, the final decision stands with the midfielder himself.
For now, Modric has shown that he still has a lot of football left in his tank and this was made evident by his performances for Croatia at the World Cup. His returns for Real Madrid have not diminished either and this has led to the suggestion that he could very well continue for another year.
As reported before, Modric is keen on playing for Madrid, at least for another season so the only thing that remains is to finalise an agreement and get the paperwork done. And for that, he has already rejected a big-money offer from Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia and approaches from the Major League Soccer (MLS).
Real Madrid, for their part, are delighted that the player wishes to continue for another year. But for now, the Los Blancos are yet to present a formal offer.
In any way, however, it is not going to be an issue in the first place as everyone wants the same thing, and that is to continue.
On a personal level, Modric feels absolutely at home, both in terms of his professional life and his personal day-to-day activities. He feels respected and loved at Madrid and he wants it to continue.

Turkish giants to go all-out to sign Real Madrid outcast – report

There is no way back for Eden Hazard at Real Madrid. The Belgian international has not given the management any reason to have faith in his abilities over his past four seasons at the club and is unsurprisingly the most important departure for the Merengues in the summer.
Hazard has one more year on his contract in Madrid. However, it is clear that Carlo Ancelotti does not trust him and that any potential replacement manager in the summer will echo his stance.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Fenerbahce are willing to go all out to sign Hazard this summer. The Turkish side have made the former Chelsea their prime target, yet face a steep task ahead of them.
The 32-year-old is hellbent on seeing out his contract with Los Blancos despite seeing his career sink right before his eyes. It thus becomes complicated for the party to lure away the forward, especially in a competition outside Europe’s top five leagues.
Fenerbahce attempted to sign the winger in the recently concluded winter transfer market. They reached an agreement with Real Madrid but failed to get over the line as they could not convince the player of the move.
The biggest obstacle for the Turkish side will be convincing Hazard to make the move by letting go of his lucrative contract in Madrid. The chances are slim, but not impossible.
Hazard has made just three league appearances and one start for Ancelotti’s side this season in La Liga, a steep fall from last season’s 18 and seven respectively.
His last appearance for the team came back in January when Real Madrid faced Cacereno in the Copa del Rey. In La Liga however, he last played in September 2022 in a 4-1 win over Mallorca.
