With ten days left for the summer transfer window to slam shut, the Kylian Mbappe soap opera is still not over.

The 24-year-old has been constantly linked with a move to Real Madrid and following his decision to not extend his contract beyond next year, a transfer this summer seemed certain as PSG did not want to lose him for nothing in 2024.

Mbappe was frozen out of the squad by the Parisian giants, but he stayed firm on his stance of seeing out his contract.

Eventually, the two parties sorted matters out and the Frenchman was brought back into the fold, and it seemed that the saga was over, at least for this summer.

No end in sight

However, it turns out that there could be more twists and turns in this transfer saga.

While PSG plan on making attempts to convince Mbappe to renew his contract in the coming weeks, it appears that Real Madrid plan on making a last-ditch attempt to sign him this summer contrary to what has been reported so far.

In fact, earlier today it was suggested that Los Blancos are waiting on a call from Mbappe’s mother-cum-agent, Fayza Lamari, before they launch a bid.

Now, BILD (via SPORT) is reporting that Real Madrid are indeed weighing up making an offer worth €120 million for the 24-year-old superstar in the final days of the market.

The Merengues have been quiet throughout the summer when it comes to the matter of Mbappe and have been keeping a close watch on how the situation develops over in Paris.

The feeling is that Mbappe has been warned that in case he does decide to renew his contract with PSG, the doors for a move to Madrid will be closed for good.

However, the club would now be considering the possibility of a low bid late on, to see whether PSG let him leave now rather than losing him for nothing a year later.

It is unlikely that the Ligue 1 champions accept such a low offer for one of the biggest stars in the game currently, however.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
