The recent injury to Vinicius Jr, which is set to sideline him for over a month, has once again put the spotlight on Real Madrid and their decision not to sign a world-class forward this summer.

After all, the Merengues had already lost the services of ace goalscorer Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio very early in the summer.

Carlo Ancelotti has been toeing the company line in public, insisting that he is happy with what he has got, but reports indicate that the Italian and his staff are perplexed about Los Blancos not signing a new forward despite many being offered to the club.

Real Madrid will not sign anyone

And, as per Jose Felix Diaz of MARCA, the stance from Real Madrid will not change in the final days of the transfer window.

As far as they are concerned, the transfer market is closed and there will be no more incomings despite the attacking unit being left short after Vinicius’ injury.

There had been talk about a move for Harry Kane earlier in the summer, but it was quickly ruled out due to the player’s age and possible transfer fee.

A lot has been said about Kylian Mbappe and his potential move to Real Madrid, but the report states that the club have not made a move for him at all and the idea has always been to sign him for free next year.

Beyond the arrival of Kepa Arrizabalaga as an emergency loan signing, there have been no talks within the club about strengthening and Vinicius’ injury has not changed that.

Two exits possible

While there will be no more incomings, Real Madrid are still open to offloading a couple more unwanted players in Alvaro Odriozola and Reinier Jesus.

Odriozola has an agreement with former club Real Sociedad but the two clubs are yet to work out a deal for the right-back.

As for Reinier, there have not been many suitors, although recent reports suggested that PAOK from Greece could be keen.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
