Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb has reported that since Real Madrid are finding it hard to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, they have set their sights on Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic, 23, has arguably been one of the most talked about forwards in the ongoing transfer window. It has been reported that the Serbian international, who has a valid contract with Juventus until 2026, was discussed during Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli’s meeting with Chelsea.

The 51-year-old eventually admitted that in order to balance the financial books, Juventus will, indeed, listen to offers for the 23-year-old just one and a half years after signing him from Fiorentina.

“Vlahovic? It’s not a secret that we have to clarify our balance/accounts, so we have to consider huge proposals. It’s important to clarify that we trust Dusan and he’s part of our project,” Giuntoli was quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

As it turns out, however, Chelsea have no interest in signing Vlahovic in the first place, and at present, the only club actively pursuing him is Paris Saint-Germain.

A few delegates of the Ligue 1 side have already met with Juventus and the French champions have reportedly asked for a few days to internally discuss this operation.

And, it now appears that Real Madrid too have entered the picture with reports suggesting that the Merengues had made an enquiry for Vlahovic recently.

Now, although Juventus are willing to sell the Serbian, only a fee of around €80 million can do the trick.

TuttoMercatoWeb adds to the report that Juventus and Real Madrid hope to meet and discuss the transfer in the first week of August when the two teams face each other in the pre-season friendly.

If there is indeed serious interest from Real Madrid’s side, they would have to pay a hefty amount for the 23-year-old, who scored just 10 league goals last season.

There just does not appear to be any respite from injuries for Real Madrid.

Just when it appeared that they were close to having their full squad – barring the two long-term absentees – the Merengues have been struck down by fresh injuries this week.

Arda Guler, who was on the cusp of being named in the squad for the Las Palmas clash, injured himself in training on Tuesday.

And now, during the game against Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have lost key defender David Alaba to an injury.

Close to the 40th-minute mark, Alaba went down on the ground clutching his leg and appeared to be in quite a bit of discomfort.

Soon enough, the medical staff arrived to take a look at the Austrian and seconds later he was off the pitch and straight towards the tunnel.

Lucas Vazquez came on to replace the injured Alaba, with Nacho Fernandez moving into the centre-back position alongside Antonio Rudiger.

Alaba’s injury leaves Carlo Ancelotti with just two fit centre-backs in Rudiger and Nacho, which is set to be a matter of great concern.

The hope will be that Alaba’s condition is nothing serious and that he is able to mount a quick recovery.
