Real Madrid will not force 23-year-old forward to stay, want him to renew contract

With both Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio exit-bound, Real Madrid are on the verge of losing two of their most clutch players in recent history. While the former started games and clinched goals week in and week out, the latter almost never failed to make an impact off the bench.
Carlo Ancelotti worries about a lack of options in the final third ahead of next season. Reports in the last 24 hours have suggested the possibility of Brahim Diaz staying at the club next season to help out in attack and stake a claim under the manager.
According to reports from Jonas Perez of Relevo (h/t Madrid Xtra), Real Madrid want to renew Brahim Diaz’s contract. After all, he is a special talent who has his whole career ahead of him and the club counts on him for the future.
However, Los Blancos will not force a decision on his immediate future at the moment. Real prefers if he stays next season but will not pose any hurdle if he wishes to leave on loan once again.
The former Manchester City player is currently on loan at AC Milan. In a span of just two years, he has established himself as a regular starter at San Siro and is in love with the club as he admitted in an interview recently.
“The future will be seen, we don’t know what can happen tomorrow, I’m in Milan and I want to perform and give 100%. The fans love me a lot. I’m at a great club and I’m focused on the next game and focused on Milan.”
The Spanish prodigy has scored six goals and provided seven assists in 32 league starts for AC Milan this season. With the project around him taking shape and the team even reaching the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League, his desire to continue is understandable.

Real Madrid defender taken off with an injury against Las Palmas

There just does not appear to be any respite from injuries for Real Madrid.
Just when it appeared that they were close to having their full squad – barring the two long-term absentees – the Merengues have been struck down by fresh injuries this week.
Arda Guler, who was on the cusp of being named in the squad for the Las Palmas clash, injured himself in training on Tuesday.
And now, during the game against Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have lost key defender David Alaba to an injury.
Close to the 40th-minute mark, Alaba went down on the ground clutching his leg and appeared to be in quite a bit of discomfort.
Soon enough, the medical staff arrived to take a look at the Austrian and seconds later he was off the pitch and straight towards the tunnel.
Lucas Vazquez came on to replace the injured Alaba, with Nacho Fernandez moving into the centre-back position alongside Antonio Rudiger.
Alaba’s injury leaves Carlo Ancelotti with just two fit centre-backs in Rudiger and Nacho, which is set to be a matter of great concern.
The hope will be that Alaba’s condition is nothing serious and that he is able to mount a quick recovery.
