Real Madrid will not improve their contract offer to soon-to-be-free attacker – report

Marco Asensio is one of the several Real Madrid players whose contract expires at the end of the ongoing campaign. The Spanish international has been at the club for almost eight years now and has made vital contributions to the team’s success in the past.
However, Asensio’s prominence within the team has taken a hit in recent years as he has fallen behind the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes and Federico Valverde in the race for a starting berth on the flanks.
Asensio has displayed his value with some important cameos this season, but Real Madrid believe that he will never be a prominent starter and will at best be a squad player.
With that in mind, they had tabled an offer worth around €4 million year as per reports. But, Asensio did not like that proposal and demanded an improved salary worth €6 million-a-year.
Now, though, Josep Pedrerol of El Chiringuito TV is reporting that Real Madrid have no intentions of improving their current offer for Asensio.
So, it would essentially mean that the Spanish international will either have to accept the offer that is currently on the table from the Merengues or leave the club as a free agent come summer.
There is seemingly no shortage of suitors for Asensio as clubs in England such as Arsenal and Liverpool have been heavily linked, while closer to home, Barcelona have been credited with an interest.
In fact, reports had even claimed that the winger’s agent, Jorge Mendes, had already offered his services to the Catalan giants. However, Asensio made it clear that his allegiances lie with Madrid after scoring a goal, which was disallowed, in the recent El Clasico.
While a move to Barcelona might no longer be on the cards, it remains to be seen whether Asensio is willing to accept Real Madrid’s current proposal or decides to walk away in search for a better contract and regular game-time.

Harry Kane ‘very close’ to completing Real Madrid move, only final details remain – report

Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid was finally closed earlier today as officially confirmed by Borussia Dortmund on their website. Yet, the offices at Santiago Bernabeu have not even taken a break to celebrate their success.
According to reports from Alfredo Pedullà, Los Blancos are now completely focused on the acquisition of Harry Kane. The English striker’s arrival is very close to approaching closure and only a few details remain to be sorted.
The Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur representatives reportedly held a meeting today over the striker’s transfer. The agenda was to agree on a number for the transfer fee.
The Premier League side began the proceedings with an expectation of €100 to €110 million in exchange for Kane. However, the Merengues suggested a lower point at €80 to €90 million, albeit with the option to include bonuses.
There is not much separating the two parties at the moment, and the minor gap will be bridged in the coming days. Overall, the meeting ended with a broad understanding between the two clubs.
Carlo Ancelotti sees the English striker as the centre-piece of his attack for next season given the recent departure of Karim Benzema. After all, Kane has been one of football’s most consistent goalscorers over the past decade.
Yet, Los Blancos cannot afford to let their guard down with one signing and will need to rope in at least two more names in attack to serve as backup options. The exits of Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard leave them with no squad depth, after all.
Kane has scored 30, 17, and 23 goals in his last three seasons in the Premier League and is the epitome of consistency. Further, he had three assists in his most recent league season and created 14 big chances.
