Real Madrid will not move for Mbappe in 2024 if he extends contract with PSG – report

Journalist Rodra has made a massive revelation that if Kylian Mbappe signs a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain this summer, the possibility of him moving to Santiago Bernabeu in 2024 would be nill.

The reporter reasons that just like they withdrew from the negotiation with PSG this summer, they would do the same next season as they only want to talk to Mbappe and not anyone else.

This was, in fact, expected to be a problem even this summer after PSG alleged that Madrid illegally approached the Frenchman without anyone’s knowledge. While it did not culminate into anything serious, the situation in 2024 would be entirely different.

The saga drags on…

June, July and August. It’s been three months since Mbappe was first linked with Real Madrid. The French forward first informed PSG that he does not wish to extend his contract beyond 2024 and will only leave after fulfilling his deal, PSG took drastic measures.

The Ligue 1 champions first tried to offer him a new contract with a guaranteed sale option in 2024 but the player was not interested in anything. PSG then established contacts with a Saudi team, but the player was adamant about fulfilling his contract.

Over the last few days, the relationship between PSG and Mbappe, which was thought to be tarnished, has gotten back on track and the World Cup winner is now expected to continue.

In fact, Mbappe and PSG are close to reaching an agreement to stay together until 2024, with the French player forgiving most of his loyalty bonus and not renewing his contract.

It was clear to Mbappe that after the end of the summer transfer window, he would be a starter under Luis Enrique. But he did not want to live in a climate of maximum tension in the run-up to Euro 2024 and the Paris Olympics.

PSG, on the other hand, have designed the squad in such a way that it appeals to the Frenchman, with Neymar and Lionel Messi leaving and Ousmane Dembele arriving. As such, the two parties are now set to continue their partnership for another year.

The player still plans to move to Madrid in 2024 and that’s what the Los Blancos’ initial plan was anyway.

But if he does end up signing a new deal beyond 2024, Real Madrid will change their stance as they are clear about the fact that they will not be going to negotiate with PSG.

Until PSG and Mbappe do not resolve the issue between themselves, Madrid will not enter the contest.

There just does not appear to be any respite from injuries for Real Madrid.

Just when it appeared that they were close to having their full squad – barring the two long-term absentees – the Merengues have been struck down by fresh injuries this week.

Arda Guler, who was on the cusp of being named in the squad for the Las Palmas clash, injured himself in training on Tuesday.

And now, during the game against Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have lost key defender David Alaba to an injury.

Close to the 40th-minute mark, Alaba went down on the ground clutching his leg and appeared to be in quite a bit of discomfort.

Soon enough, the medical staff arrived to take a look at the Austrian and seconds later he was off the pitch and straight towards the tunnel.

Lucas Vazquez came on to replace the injured Alaba, with Nacho Fernandez moving into the centre-back position alongside Antonio Rudiger.

Alaba’s injury leaves Carlo Ancelotti with just two fit centre-backs in Rudiger and Nacho, which is set to be a matter of great concern.

The hope will be that Alaba’s condition is nothing serious and that he is able to mount a quick recovery.
