Real Madrid winger happy at the club, wants to continue – report

Marco Asensio once again proved his worth to this Real Madrid side as he scored an important goal against Chelsea on Wednesday night, seconds after coming off the bench.
The 27-year-old, in the process, became the player to have scored the most number of goals as a substitute in the UEFA Champions League.
Heading into the final phase of the season, Asensio’s future has been a topic of much debate. The winger’s current contract stands to expire at the end of the season, sparking endless rumours over his continuity.
It has been previously reported that Asensio is not entirely happy with the contract offer tabled by the club. At the same time, it has also been claimed that the winger wants a more prominent role in the side.
But, according to a fresh report from MARCA, Asensio is very happy at Real Madrid and wants to stay at the club beyond the ongoing campaign.
The 27-year-old is understood to be not entirely satisfied with the contract offer tabled and has considered the possibility of moving to the Premier League.
However, his happiness is at Real Madrid, and the club, too, value the 27-year-old not only because of the qualities he brings to the table but also the fact that he is a homegrown talent in the squad.
So, while there may still be some kinks that need to be ironed out, it seems like Asensio and Real Madrid will ultimately reach an agreement over a new contract.
In 38 matches this season, Asensio has netted nine goals and set up six more even though he has not been a regular starter.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti values the 27-year-old’s values and spoke about it after the Chelsea game, saying:
“Marco moves really nicely in the spaces between the lines and he has an unbelievable shot on him. I really appreciate him because he tends to score every game he plays, whether he plays from the start or comes off the bench. He’s decisive in any squad because he can change the game with his goals and assists.”

Harry Kane ‘very close’ to completing Real Madrid move, only final details remain – report

Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid was finally closed earlier today as officially confirmed by Borussia Dortmund on their website. Yet, the offices at Santiago Bernabeu have not even taken a break to celebrate their success.
According to reports from Alfredo Pedullà, Los Blancos are now completely focused on the acquisition of Harry Kane. The English striker’s arrival is very close to approaching closure and only a few details remain to be sorted.
The Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur representatives reportedly held a meeting today over the striker’s transfer. The agenda was to agree on a number for the transfer fee.
The Premier League side began the proceedings with an expectation of €100 to €110 million in exchange for Kane. However, the Merengues suggested a lower point at €80 to €90 million, albeit with the option to include bonuses.
There is not much separating the two parties at the moment, and the minor gap will be bridged in the coming days. Overall, the meeting ended with a broad understanding between the two clubs.
Carlo Ancelotti sees the English striker as the centre-piece of his attack for next season given the recent departure of Karim Benzema. After all, Kane has been one of football’s most consistent goalscorers over the past decade.
Yet, Los Blancos cannot afford to let their guard down with one signing and will need to rope in at least two more names in attack to serve as backup options. The exits of Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard leave them with no squad depth, after all.
Kane has scored 30, 17, and 23 goals in his last three seasons in the Premier League and is the epitome of consistency. Further, he had three assists in his most recent league season and created 14 big chances.
