Real Madrid wonderkid the favourite to win Golden Boy award – report

Real Madrid rising star Jude Bellingham has been one of the great stories of La Liga so far this season. The English attacking midfielder has enjoyed a phenomenal start to the new campaign and has been the Merengues’ best player by far.
According to MARCA, Bellingham is currently the biggest favourite to take home the Golden Boy award this year.
The Spanish outlet adds that the former Borrusia Dortmund star has exceeded the expectations Real Madrid had of him. The management considers the €103 million fee paid to Dortmund as money well spent.
Who are the other contenders for the award?
As part of their report, MARCA have brought out a list of favourites to take home the Golden Boy award this year.
Bellingham is firmly in the driver’s seat as the frontrunner in the race. However, Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich and breakout Benfica defender Antonio Silva are his biggest competitors.
The Spanish publication goes on to name Barcelona’s Gavi and former PSG star Xavi Simons in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Shouldering the responsibility

Bellingham’s prowess in front of goal has always been known, and was in fact one of the criteria that made Real Madrid push for his signing.
Yet, not many expected him to have an impact of the proportion he has produced this early in his stint at the Spanish capital.
The 20-year-old prodigy has scored four goals and provided one assist for the men in white in just three official starts so far and tops Europe’s top 10 leagues in terms of goal contributions.
Bellingham has not allowed the Los Blancos’ faithful to feel the void created by Karim Benzema’s departure.
With Vinicius Jr now injured for over a month, the pressure on Bellingham’s shoulders to carry the forward line will only grow.

French midfielder admits considering PSG move before Real Madrid called him

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.
However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni on PSG links
Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”
“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.
Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.
Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.
Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.
Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
