Brahim Diaz officially returned to Real Madrid from his three-year loan stint at AC Milan last month. Los Blancos unveiled him once again to the fans, for this time the player appears set to stay.

With major departures in the forward department, the 23-year-old starlet could step in as a winger or attacking midfielder for the team in the season to come. Having renewed his deal until 2027, he is here to stay.

The youngster spoke with the club’s media channel after the morning session of the team’s second day of preseason, covering a plethora of topics including the intensity of training and the manager.

To begin with, however, Diaz commented on his feelings about returning to Real Madrid and his reunion with the squad, saying:

“The return has been very good. I like to be here with colleagues I’ve had before and meet the new ones. I’m very happy and happy because this is where I want to be.”

The versatile playmaker then went on to give his two cents on the training sessions being conducted in the pre-season and how it would help them across the long and tiring season, as he said:

“The workouts are quite hard, I like them. The group is incredible and we are looking forward to the matches to get to know each other better. The work we are doing is very good for us to pick up the pace as soon as possible.”

Carlo Ancelotti appears set to count on Diaz finally after sending the youngster out on loan for experience in successive seasons. The attacking midfielder commented on his interaction with the manager saying:

“He tells me to enjoy, to be myself, and show my best version. I want to help the team as much as I can and I hope to learn a lot from the great players here. I am very happy to work with Ancelotti.”

Antonio Pintus, Real Madrid’s fitness coach, is known to give players nightmares with his rigorous training sessions. The youngster highlighted the same, but added a note on the benefits of such high standards.

“I coincided with him the first year I came. It’s hard and you have to work. We have to pick up the pace as soon as possible and finish the season as it starts,” he said.

“It’s not just about playing 60 minutes, but about playing 100 minutes and doing it at a good level because with Pintus it’s like that.”

New signings Jude Bellingham, Fran Garcia and Arda Guler have begun training with the group as of Monday, and in the process have linked up with the squad. The former AC Milan player praised the new arrivals and what they brought to the table, saying:

“They are incredible people, they want to learn and improve. Each of them is going to contribute a lot. We will all improve a lot with the players here because they make you learn and improve. They are very good players and they have a lot to offer.”

Finally, Diaz spoke about the unity and mentality in the Real Madrid dressing room and what made it a second home for the players, saying:

“We are a very close-knit group, hungry to keep winning. This is Madrid, we have to keep winning. The players who have arrived are at home, when you get here it’s like that.”

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
