Arda Guler has been in the headlines in recent weeks with his future at Real Madrid a subject of intense speculation.

Given that the 19-year-old has found minutes extremely hard to come by, there have been rumours that the youngster could leave on loan in the summer, with there being no shortage of interest.

Indeed, as reported previously, more than ten clubs have shown an interest in taking Guler on loan in the summer.

At the same time, it has also been suggested that the Turkish prodigy himself has asked the club to let him leave in search of minutes.

Guler not asking to leave

Now, Fabrizio Romano has come forward with an update on the situation, stating that contrary to reports Arda Guler has not requested Real Madrid to sanction a departure for him in the summer.

The Italian transfer expert acknowledges that several clubs have asked about signing the 19-year-old on loan, but as of now, the player has not made any move from his end.

Furthermore, Romano adds that any decision regarding Guler will be made in June when the player’s camp and the club sit down the discuss the situation.

Ancelotti promises more minutes

Speaking after Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Barcelona last night, manager Carlo Ancelotti suggested that Guler will have more minutes in the weeks to come.

“Now we will calmly evaluate everything. Guler will now have the minutes he wants,” said the manager.

With only six games left to be played in La Liga, the title is pretty much certain to come to the Santiago Bernabeu thanks to the Merengues’ 11-point lead at the top.

As such, Ancelotti could be open to rotating his troops more freely, paving the way for Guler to play more.

Speaking in an interview with Sport BILD (h/t AS), Germany legend Michael Ballack has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid.

Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have been closely monitoring for a while now, with the German sensation being seen as a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement yesterday.

A move for Wirtz is being planned for the summer of 2025 and Ballack believes that the Bundesliga title winner with Leverkusen is ready for the big move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Wirtz is ready for Real Madrid,” said Ballack.

“In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it in Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB: when you play with even better players, you become even better,” he added.

Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen that runs until the summer of 2027. As things stand, the new German champions have no intentions of selling their prized asset this year.

However, there appears to be an acceptance that the German international will be on the move in 2025.

Other top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested, but Real Madrid are likely to beat them in the race should it come down to that next year.

A move for Wirtz, though, could cost in excess of €100 million for Real Madrid should they do indeed decide to proceed with his signing next year.
