Real Madrid youngster’s agent met with Valencia sporting director – report

Real Madrid have a number of young talents with potential in the Castilla squad, one of whom happens to be Vinicius Tobias.

The right-back, 19, joined Real Madrid from Shakhtar Donetsk on a loan deal with a €10 million buy option, which they decided not to trigger.

Instead, Tobias was re-signed on another loan deal last summer with an obligation to make his transfer permanent if certain conditions are met, with the fee seemingly increased to €15 million.

The teenage defender has fared well for Castilla, registering four assists from 19 league games. He is also seen training with the senior team under Carlo Ancelotti’s orders quite regularly, with the teenager even making his first-team debut in a Copa del Rey clash against Arandina.

Now, Radio MARCA is reporting that Vinicius Tobias’ agent has held a meeting with the sporting director of Valencia, Miguel Ángel Corona.

The meeting is understood to have taken place earlier today in Paterna, with Valencia understood to be maintaining an interest in the Real Madrid talent.

Los Che raided Real Madrid in January to sign another young talent, Peter Federico, on loan with an option to buy.

And it appears that they might be plotting a similar manoeuvre with Vinicius Tobias as well in the summer.

At 19, Tobias still has a lot to learn and develop and is some way away from becoming a regular in the Real Madrid first-team setup.

Furthermore, it is still unclear as to whether his transfer will be made permanent or not in the summer. So, it remains to be seen how the situation evolves in the months to come.

As Real Madrid gear up to face Borussia Dortmund in the finals of the UEFA Champions League this weekend, a number of their players interacted with the press today as part of the UEFA Open Media Day.

Jude Bellingham was one of the stars who answered questions from the media ahead of what will be an emotional game for him against his former club, in his homeland.

The England international has enjoyed a spectacular debut season at Real Madrid and is seen as a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or this season.

However, when asked about the Golden Orb, Bellingham tipped his Madrid teammate Vinicius Jr. as his pick to win the prestigious honour this year.

“For me, Vinicius is the best in the world. He creates magic out of nothing. He has everything to be the best,” said Bellingham, as quoted by The Athletic’s Guillermo Rai.

After all, Vinicius has also enjoyed a scintillating campaign and is one of the frontrunners to walk away with the Ballon d’Or, owing to his clutch performances for Real Madrid.

The Brazilian also spoke to the media today and was asked about the Ballon d’Or. Interestingly, he went on to name Bellingham as his pick to win the Golden Ball.

“I would give the Ballon d’Or to Bellingham,” he said, as quoted by Carrusel.

When Bellingham was informed about Vinicius picking him as the favourite for the Ballon d’Or, the England international responded by saying:

“If that’s how he feels, then you can split it in two (laughs).”

The responses show the strong bond and camaraderie that the two superstars of Real Madrid share.

Both are contenders to lift the Golden Ball this year and a win in the Champions League, coupled with strong performances in the summer’s international tournaments, would further enhance their chances.
