According to a report from MARCA, Real Madrid defender Lucas Vazquez, who turned 32 today, has rejected several offers from European clubs in order to continue at the Santiago Bernabeu.

A product of the club’s youth academy, Vazquez got his break into the first team in 2015 after a loan stint away at RCD Espanyol. Since then, the 32-year-old has been an important squad member for Los Blancos contributing with his versatility and terrific work ethic.

One of the longest-serving members left in the current squad, Vazquez has made 311 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 33 and assisting 57 goals.

Having started out as a winger, Vazquez has now transformed himself into a right-back and serves as the backup to Dani Carvajal in the position.

Given his experience and versatility, the report states that several offers came the Spanish international’s way in recent weeks, especially considering the fact that his contract stands to expire exactly in a year.

Juventus were understood to be one of those suitors interested in Vazquez, with the Italians seeking to reinforce their right-back position this summer.

However, Vazquez turned down all approaches and proposals that came his way as he has no intentions of leaving Real Madrid this summer.

As for whether there will be a renewal for the 32-year-old next year, there is no information on that.

But, Vazquez staying put for the next season is an important decision from the club’s point of view as Real Madrid do not intend to sign a new full-back this summer even though manager Carlo Ancelotti wishes to reinforce the positions.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
