Speaking to the media ahead of his team’s La Liga clash against Real Madrid, Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil hailed Vinicius Jr as a ‘difference maker’ on the pitch.

Real Madrid will be looking for yet another win in the league on Tuesday night as they look to build momentum ahead of the Copa del Rey final against CA Osasuna at the weekend. And they will face Sociedad away at Reale Arena tomorrow night.

However, Carlo Ancelotti will be unable to call upon his key forward Vinicius Jr for the game as the winger is suspended after picking up his tenth yellow card of the season against Almeria.

When asked whether Vinicius’ absence will be felt by Real Madrid, Alguacil said that the Brazilian was a difference maker and was enjoying a fine season, but Real Madrid have other stars who can step up in his absence.

“Yes, because he’s been showing that he’s a difference maker, but sometimes when Vinicius is there, it’s other players who have won the match…,” the Real Sociedad manager said.

“It’s clear that he’s having a great season, as his numbers show, but when he doesn’t have his day, others appear and those others are going to be on the pitch.”

Furthermore, Alguacial also insisted that Real Madrid’s 4-2 defeat to Girona in their last away fixture was a one-off occurrence and that the reigning Spanish champions will not go down without a fight tomorrow, even if they have an eye on the cup final.

“No matter whether they have the final, a team like Madrid like to win everything and, even if they are missing some very important players, they are going to be a very, very competitive team,” he said.

“It’s crazy what this Real Madrid and this coach are doing! I’m convinced that it’s not going to be like Girona.

“I don’t think Madrid will have another slip-up like the one in Girona, it’s very difficult for it to happen twice in a row, so we’re going to see the best version of them, because they’re up against a great rival and we’ve earned their respect, they play differently.”

Harry Kane ‘very close’ to completing Real Madrid move, only final details remain – report

Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid was finally closed earlier today as officially confirmed by Borussia Dortmund on their website. Yet, the offices at Santiago Bernabeu have not even taken a break to celebrate their success.

According to reports from Alfredo Pedullà, Los Blancos are now completely focused on the acquisition of Harry Kane. The English striker’s arrival is very close to approaching closure and only a few details remain to be sorted.

The Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur representatives reportedly held a meeting today over the striker’s transfer. The agenda was to agree on a number for the transfer fee.

The Premier League side began the proceedings with an expectation of €100 to €110 million in exchange for Kane. However, the Merengues suggested a lower point at €80 to €90 million, albeit with the option to include bonuses.

There is not much separating the two parties at the moment, and the minor gap will be bridged in the coming days. Overall, the meeting ended with a broad understanding between the two clubs.

Carlo Ancelotti sees the English striker as the centre-piece of his attack for next season given the recent departure of Karim Benzema. After all, Kane has been one of football’s most consistent goalscorers over the past decade.

Yet, Los Blancos cannot afford to let their guard down with one signing and will need to rope in at least two more names in attack to serve as backup options. The exits of Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard leave them with no squad depth, after all.

Kane has scored 30, 17, and 23 goals in his last three seasons in the Premier League and is the epitome of consistency. Further, he had three assists in his most recent league season and created 14 big chances.
