Real Madrid have received a huge boost ahead of their Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid as Barcelona’s Joao Cancelo has been ruled out of action with a knee injury for the game, and will likely not make the squad, as per SPORT.

The Catalans already know it is next to impossible for the Portuguese to make it back in time for the game, but are waiting to see if there is a miracle on the last day. Since he was registered in time for the initial traveling list, he can still be included last-minute for the final.

Barcelona were also traveling with Pedri, who was only given the medical green light on the day of their semi-final against Osasuna, whom they beat 2-0. The Spaniard came off the bench to play the last 30 odd minutes, but is expected to start vs Madrid.

However, Carlo Ancelotti has a few concerns of his own, starting with the man of the match against Atletico Madrid, Daniel Carvajal, who did not train with the rest of the team today. He worked out in the gym, but is expected to make it back in time for the final.

Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga also looked to be injured vs Atletico, with the former being subbed off for Arda Guler during extra-time.

Eventually, though, both injuries were considered minor. The Uruguayan is fully expected to retain his spot in the starting lineup barring some late setback, while the Frenchman will likely start off the bench.

Ancelotti had introduced Camavinga as a sub vs Atleti, too, but as a left-back. He put in a tremendous shift there, and was among the best players on the pitch. The Italian gaffer could, speculatively, start him there again to deal with Lamine Yamal’s dribbling threat.

Real Madrid will sign off on their successful La Liga campaign today with a fixture against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game, being seen as a final preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, sees manager Carlo Ancelotti field his strongest possible lineup.

All eyes will obviously be on the retiring Toni Kroos, who bids goodbye to the Bernabeu in what will be his final home game as a Real Madrid player.

The German international starts in the centre of the park alongside Federico Valverde, while Eduardo Camavinga slots in as the No. 6.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain, Nacho Fernandez, also starts in what could be his last game at the Bernabeu as well.

Nacho pairs up with Antonio Rudiger in defence, flanked by the full-back pairing of Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal ahead of Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Up front, Vinicius Jr. starts in attack, partnering up with Rodrygo Goes. Top scorer Jude Bellingham occupies the attacking midfield role for Real Madrid.
