According to journalists Rodrigo Faez and Julien Laurens, Saudi side Al Ittihad have improved their offer to sign Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema a few days back and to top it all, they have also accepted all his requests.

As reported before, Benzema is said to be close to leaving Real Madrid after receiving a two-year contract offer worth a mammoth €400 million from Al Ittihad. Interestingly enough, the journalists write that this offer was received by the Frenchman in January.

Over the course of the second half of the season, the 35-year-old came close to reaching an agreement with Real Madrid for another season, but the situation has changed in recent weeks. At the moment, although Madrid want him to continue, the forward is considering the Saudi offer.

There is a sense of pessimism within the Real Madrid team right now with regard to Benzema. Given the offers he has, Madrid are demanding a quick final response from the forward as his departure will affect Madrid’s summer transfer window.

Benzema’s exit will force Real Madrid to sign an out-an-out number 9. Names such as Harry Kane, Roberto Firmino, and Victor Osimhen have been put forward.

Still, it is said that the management will not spend a lot to replace the departing Frenchman mostly because they plan to go big in the summer of 2024 when the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland will be made available.

Lastly, while Madrid’s priority is to convince Benzema, they have started to look for alternatives, and it is said that they are in advance talks with Espanyol for the short-term signing of Joselu.

Everything hinges on what Benzema decides. If he is to leave, the team’s summer activity could be intense. If he does not, one can anyway expect Madrid to sign Joselu on a season-long loan.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
