As Real Madrid continue to sweat on Karim Benzema’s future, a report from journalist Arancha Rodriguez (h/t Madrid Xtra) has confirmed that the legendary Frenchman still has not told the club whether he would be staying next season or not.

The soap opera of Benzema’s future at Real Madrid continue to haunt the club from the capital city. At the moment, the veteran forward has refused to speak anything concrete about the subject. “Why am I going to talk about the future, if I’m in Madrid? Reality is not the Internet.”

Truth be told, every day there is a new story. One claims the 35-year-old has inquired former Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo about life in the Middle East, while there are reports that the Los Blancos have not given up on his renewal.

In this regard, Carlo Ancelotti reportedly met with the forward to understand the situation and made him believe that the team does want him to continue. If he does end up staying, Madrid will not have to search for a new forward.

However, if he decides to end his tenure, the team from the capital city will have to look beyond Joselu. The Espanyol striker is said to be closing on a loan move to Santiago Bernabeu, but without Benzema, Madrid will have no one to rely on.

Now, it is said that Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane is someone who is liked by Ancelotti, but his acquisition will jeoperdise Madrid’s plan for the summer of 2024, where they are expecting to rope in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

For the moment, Benzema indeed informed Real Madrid of Saudi Arabia’s offer a long time ago, but the club is still waiting for a definitive answer. And this continues to haunt the record European champions as their summer plans are largely dependent on the Frenchman’s continuity.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
