Sevilla, Valencia among teams interested in signing out-of-favour Real Madrid forward

Mariano Diaz’s spell at Real Madrid is set to come to a disappointing end this summer when the forward leave the club at the end of the season. With just six goals in La Liga, he has clearly failed to live up to the expectations of the fans since returning to the Bernabeu in 2018.
However, despite his struggles, Diaz has no shortage of suitors. According to Diario SPORT, the forward has become a hot prospect in the transfer market, with a series of La Liga clubs interested in acquiring his services ahead of the new season.
Sevilla, Valencia, Getafe and Rayo Vallecano are some of the clubs which have been interested in signing Diaz in the past. They have maintained their interest in the player and will approach him once he sees out his contract at Real Madrid.
Despite his struggles at Real Madrid, Mariano has a positive track record of performing in Ligue 1. He has also won almost everything during his time at Santiago Bernabeu. This, coupled with his status as a free agent makes him an appealing target for the clubs.
Apart from Spanish outfits, Mariano has been also courted by several Premier League clubs, including Wolverhampton Wanderers. Jules Lopetegui knows the player well, having with the player during his time at the Bernabeu.
Mariano, for his part, has been reportedly looking out for options across the globe as he looks to take the next step in his career. But should a reasonable offer come, he might not be averse to continuing his career in Europe.
Apart from Diaz, Real Madrid also have another attacker Marco Asensio leaving the club at the end of the season. The Spaniard will become a far hotter target in the market, with AC Milan already seeking the possibility of incorporating him into the team ahead of the new season.

Real Madrid defender taken off with an injury against Las Palmas

There just does not appear to be any respite from injuries for Real Madrid.
Just when it appeared that they were close to having their full squad – barring the two long-term absentees – the Merengues have been struck down by fresh injuries this week.
Arda Guler, who was on the cusp of being named in the squad for the Las Palmas clash, injured himself in training on Tuesday.
And now, during the game against Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have lost key defender David Alaba to an injury.
Close to the 40th-minute mark, Alaba went down on the ground clutching his leg and appeared to be in quite a bit of discomfort.
Soon enough, the medical staff arrived to take a look at the Austrian and seconds later he was off the pitch and straight towards the tunnel.
Lucas Vazquez came on to replace the injured Alaba, with Nacho Fernandez moving into the centre-back position alongside Antonio Rudiger.
Alaba’s injury leaves Carlo Ancelotti with just two fit centre-backs in Rudiger and Nacho, which is set to be a matter of great concern.
The hope will be that Alaba’s condition is nothing serious and that he is able to mount a quick recovery.
