Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s flirting with Real Madrid and club legend Guti may not materialise into anything concrete in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, the developments continue to form a strong base for a potential association in the years to come.
The Georgian international is a player whose profile is highly appreciated at the offices of Santiago Bernabeu. However, speculation of his move only grew when Real Madrid legend Guti found out that he was the winger’s idol and offered to send him a shirt if he joined the club.
As revealed by El Chiringuito, Kvaratskhelia has received his gift from Guti regardless. Along with the present, the former Real Madrid player sent a message that read, “For Khvicha, hope you liked the shirt and I hope your dreams come true. I’m waiting for you in Madrid.”
The Napoli winger was elated at receiving the personalised token from the Spanish legend and did not take long to send out his heartfelt gratitude to Guti.
“Thank you for the T-shirt and the message. You are a legend of football. Thank you,” he said in a message of heartfelt gratitude before revealing that he too, had a gift for his idol, which remains undisclosed.
While the stage appears to be set to welcome Kvaratskhelia to Madrid, Napoli do not entertain the idea of his departure. The Italians have set a price tag of €100 million on their star to deter any interested parties.
In 22 Serie A appearances for the Naples-based side, the youngster has scored 11 goals and provided nine assists so far. He is expected to be in action later today when Napoli take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid do not want to pay ‘crazy money’ for top defensive target – Romano
As has been reported by multiple reliable sources today, Alphonso Davies is likely to be on his way to Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in the summer.
It has been suggested that the 23-year-old Canadian left-back already has a verbal agreement with Los Blancos over a transfer either this summer or in 2025, when his contract with the Bundesliga champions runs down.
Now, the idea is for Real Madrid to start negotiations with Bayern Munich over a transfer fee so that a mutually beneficial agreement can be reached for the summer window.
Real Madrid will not pay crazy money
Amidst all this, Fabrizio Romano has come out with an update claiming that Real Madrid do not intend to pay ‘crazy money’ to sign Davies from Bayern Munich given that he will be entering the final year of his contract.
The Italian transfer expert claims that Real Madrid have been the preferred destination for Davies for a while now and that the personal terms between the two parties will not be an issue at all.
So, a summer move would now hinge on Bayern Munich’s asking price for their left-back.
Romano states that the Bavarian giants will attempt to tie Davies down to a new contract until May or even June.
But if the left-back, who is demanding hefty wages worth around €20 million, does not agree to sign, they will be forced to sell instead of losing him for free next year.
In that scenario, Real Madrid will be best-placed to sign Davies, although Los Blancos will not go overboard with their spending on the Canadian.
