Real Madrid superstar’s camp refuses to meet club until contract offer is improved
A lot has been said about the Vinicius Jr. contract renewal saga at Real Madrid, for the player and the club are once again at odds after reportedly being close to an agreement.
Just when everything appeared set for the player to return from vacation and sign his renewal, the two parties have again hit a roadblock on the economic front with Los Blancos’ offer falling reasonably short of Vinicius’ expectations.
Needless to say, the club have stood firm on their offer and refused to dance to the player’s tune. They maintain that they will not hesitate to sell the player immediately if an agreement cannot be reached.
Internal unrest
As reported by Ramon Alvarez in a recent update, Vinicius’ entourage is experiencing severe internal tension due to all the rumours being spread about the player and his future in the media.

No official reapproachment or negotiations have taken place in recent weeks, yet the story on social media is portraying an image that talks have not been fruitful. The misrepresentation of facts, needless to say, hurts the player’s close circle.
As matters stand, Vinicius’ agents are refusing to hold any meeting with Real Madrid’s management until the club raises their economic offer to the player’s liking. As matters stand, the figure they are offering stands around the €20 million mark.
A difference of 25%
As relayed in recent weeks, the figure Vinicius Jr. is demanding from Real Madrid is the same as what Kylian Mbappe currently earns at the club and the player is pushing to be placed on the same slab.

To hit that number, however, the club need to make a sizeable boost in their offer – one along the lines of 25% to 50% of what they are currently offering.
The Brazilian star’s expectations exceed Real Madrid’s offer of €20 million by €6 million to €10 million – a number that is significantly higher than the current proposal.
Going purely based on how far the two parties currently are, the chances of an agreement materialising appear highly complicated. One of the two parties must cave into the pressure of the other if the deal is to go through at this point.

Confirmed: Real Madrid starting lineup against Elche – Guler in for Bellingham
Real Madrid will be looking to pick up their fifth win of the 2026/27 La Liga season when they take on Elche CF at Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero later tonight.
With 12 points from five games, Los Blancos are currently second in the league table, three points below leaders FC Barcelona.
As such, the Spanish capital club will be eager to get the win and close the gap to the top.
Guler starts, Bellingham rested
Ahead of kickoff, Real Madrid have announced the starting lineup that will take the field against Elche, with Jose Mourinho making some important changes.
For starters, Arda Guler is back in the lineup after appearing as a substitute in the win over Rayo Vallecano.
Interestingly, however, he starts in the attacking midfield role, with Mourinho opting to rest Jude Bellingham, who has started all of Real Madrid’s games so far.
That also means that Yan Diomande retains his place in the team, starting for a second time in a row on the right wing. Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. continue in their respective positions in attack.
Another notable change sees Aurelien Tchouameni make his first start of the season after recovering from injury and making two appearances off the bench.
He replaces Bernardo Silva as Federico Valverde’s partner in the middle of the park.
Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Marc Cucurella come in as full-backs, while Ibrahima Konate and Dean Huijsen slot in at centre-back in front of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
