With Real Madrid set to face Chelsea in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the Santiago Bernabeu tomorrow night, the Blues have released the list of players that will be travelling to the Spanish capital.

The good news for Chelsea is that Mason Mount, who had suffered a recurrence of the pelvic injury and missed the Wolves game this past weekend, is fit and on the list of players flying to Madrid.

Meanwhile, N’Golo Kante, who was also rested for the Premier League match last time out, is also fit and is on the squad list. If all goes well, the Frenchman could be in line to make his first appearance in the Champions League this season.

Veteran defender Thiago Silva, who has been out of action since mid-February due to a knee injury, returned to training on Monday and has flown to Madrid as well.

The same holds true for captain Cesar Azpilicueta, who too has recovered from an injury and is in the squad for the match against Real Madrid.

Chelsea’s 24-man squad list for Real Madrid clash:

Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Bettinelli, Edouard Mendy
Defenders: Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Kalidou Koulibaly, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana
Midfielders: Enzo Fernandez, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Denis Zakaria, Hakim Ziyech, Conor Gallagher
Forwards: Christian Pulisic, Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz.

In what is starting to become an alarmingly common occurrence, a set of Barcelona fans were spotted hurling abusive chants towards Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr.

Barça will be facing PSG in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal today in less than an hour and in the lead-up to the game, a section of the Catalans’ supporters were seen chanting “Vinicius, die” on the streets.

It is not the first time this has happened, with Vinicius being constantly targeted by not only Barcelona fans but supporters of a number of other La Liga clubs.

In fact, last month, Barcelona fans were seen hurling the same chants before their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Napoli.

The same had happened outside Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic prior to the Clasico in October last year.

Moreover, this past weekend, a Mallorca fan at Son Moix directed racist abuse towards Vinicius’ Real Madrid teammate, Aurelien Tchouameni.

It is shocking and embarrassing that these incidents continue to occur. It remains to be seen if any action is taken by the concerned authorities against those involved.
