According to a report from MARCA, Kylian Mbappe and PSG are set for a crucial meeting tomorrow to discuss and find a solution for his future amid links to Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old has announced his intention to not renew with the Ligue 1 champions beyond 2024, when his current deal runs out. It would mean that PSG would lose Mbappe for free in the summer of next year – a scenario that they intend on avoiding.

As such, they have made it abundantly clear to their superstar that either he renews his contract or be sold this summer, with Real Madrid closely monitoring the situation.

Now, though, PSG and Mbappe will be meeting tomorrow to discuss the matter and reach a resolution.

As per the report, a new possibility appears to be gaining weight. PSG could now offer Mbappe a new contract worth two or three years, which he could sign.

However, while there would be no release clause in the contract, the deal would contain a verbal commitment from the club to sell Mbappe next year.

Real Madrid, for their part, will not make any move in haste and wait to see the fallout from the meeting before acting on their interest.

If there is an agreement between PSG and Mbappe over a new deal, Los Blancos would have to wait until next year to sign him and the price for the transfer would potentially be the same €200 million that the Spanish capital club were willing to offer for him in 2021.

The meeting will comprise of Mbappe, his mother/agent Fayza Lamari and senior PSG officials, including club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Mbappe does not really want to leave PSG right now as he could lose out on a mammoth payout because of wages and a loyalty bonus.

So, there seems to be a chance that the 24-year-old might end up signing a renewal with the Parisians but with a caveat that they will sell him next summer, at which point Real Madrid would make a move.

According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano (h/t Madrid Xtra), Real Madrid are shifting its focus towards securing new contracts for key players Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy in the upcoming weeks.

Both Carvajal and Mendy have contracts that are set to expire in 2025. While there have been some challenges regarding Mendy’s future, Real Madrid have remained clear about their intentions for the Euro 2024 winner.

Over the past year, Carvajal has had an impressive run, adding three more trophies to his collection with Real Madrid, including the Euro 2024 championship.

Interestingly, he is currently not overly concerned about his future. He hasn’t been thinking much about his contract extension, with the last major news about it surfacing about a month ago.

“At the moment I’m not thinking about leaving Madrid, far from it. My subjective perception is that the day I can’t contribute what I can contribute, I’ll take a step aside,” he said a few weeks back.

On the other hand, Mendy’s future at Real Madrid seemed uncertain due to rumours that he might be replaced by Alphonso Davies.

However, Carlo Ancelotti has shown an unusually strong preference for retaining Mendy. The manager has made it clear that he wants Mendy to stay.

He has praised Mendy’s skills and performances throughout the past season, making it evident that he sees Mendy as a crucial part of his strategy.

At present, there is a significant concern within the team that if an agreement is not reached by next summer, Mendy could leave the club on a free transfer. This scenario is something Real Madrid are keen to avoid.

As Real Madrid move forward with these contract negotiations, the focus remains on securing the futures of both Carvajal and Mendy, ensuring that they continue to contribute to the club’s success in the years to come.
