Over the past week or so, the chatter surrounding the future of Bayer Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby has been growing, with links to Real Madrid doing the rounds.

The 23-year-old former PSG forward is enjoying a solid campaign in Germany, having managed to produce a return of 14 goals and 11 assists from 43 matches across all competitions.

And his performances have not escaped the attention of Real Madrid, who are in the market for attacking reinforcements.

Now, journalist Jose Felix Diaz, appearing on Ruben Martin’s Twitch channel, has claimed that Real Madrid believe that Diaby is exactly what their attacking unit needs before next season.

The Merengues lack a natural winger in their ranks apart from Vinicius Jr, with Rodrygo Goes more comfortable drifting inside from the right. As such, it has been identified that a new wide attacker who can score goals can be a smart investment.

And, Los Blancos believe that Diaby would fit the bill perfectly. The 23-year-old is a right-sided winger and can play on the left flank as well. He has displayed his goalscoring pedigree this season while his assist numbers are also quite impressive.

As such, a possible move for Diaby could gain weight at the Valdebebas.

It has been reported that a move for the Bayer Leverkusen attacker might not be possible if Eden Hazard does not leave. But, Jose Felix Diaz adds that it is not the case and the club could move for the Frenchman and in turn use that as a pressure tactic to convince Hazard to leave.

However, Diaby could end up costing in excess of £50 million and is also courting interest from the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal. It could make things tricky for Real Madrid, who are already working on a huge outlay to sign Jude Bellingham.

Real Madrid have a host of talent coming through their youth setup, with the likes of Sergio Arribas, Vinicius Tobias, and Nico Paz impressing the club through their performances with Real Madrid Castilla.

Paz, especially, has been touted as one of the biggest talents coming through the Madrid academy. He is considered ‘the’ talent from the youth setup, with a lot of expectations around him.

A midfielder by trade, Paz has seemingly impressed two of the biggest names in world football, according to MARCA.

One of them is Toni Kroos, who has watched Paz closely during training with the senior team. The German complimented him, as well, saying, “This boy should train with us every day because he is terrific.”

He has also seemingly created an impression on none other than Lionel Messi, while the two were training with Argentina together.

Carlo Ancelotti has also joined the praise parade for Paz, “He has projections to play in the first team. He is doing very well with Arbeloa and the times he was used by Raúl he has also done very well at Castilla.”

Paz has already been included in the squad list for two games so far this season, and will continue to train with Real Madrid’s senior squad. He is also expected to be a part of los blancos’ pre-season tour, after which he could get minutes next season.

Real Madrid have renewed the Argentine’s contract up until 2027, as they wanted to lock him down quickly for the long-term. There, is however, a chance he could leave Madrid on lock next season to get minutes with a senior division side.
