Real Madrid keeping tabs on Chelsea and Bayern Munich stars to reinforce two key positions

Real Madrid find themselves in a comfortable position in the UEFA Champions League, thanks to a 2-0 victory over Chelsea in the first leg of the quarterfinal.
According to MARCA, Real Madrid were keeping close tabs on Reece James during the game. In fact, the Spanish giants have grown seemingly keen on securing the services of the Chelsea star, as part of their plans to reinforce their full-back positions in the coming summer.
Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. The Canadian international, who is known for his blistering pace and versatility, could be an ideal upgrade on Ferland Mendy.
However, Real Madrid are prioritising a move for James. The Chelsea star bags loads of experience at the highest level of football. He is also arguably much more versatile than Davies, as he can operate not only as a right-back and a wing-back but also in a back three.
More importantly, Real Madrid believe they have an excellent market opportunity to secure the services of Reece James on a cut-price figure this coming summer.
This is because Chelsea are in desperate need to sell some of their star players, having signed a host of players during the January transfer window. So in order to balance the books, some unwanted exits could be in the offing, with James emerging as one of the options.
The report, in fact, claims James could be available for as low as €50 million, which could be a bargain for a player of his calibre. If we compare it to Real Madrid’s other top target in Josko Gvardiol, Reece James could by far be the better option.
However, it must be noted that Chelsea will not be too keen on getting rid of one of their star defenders just to balance the books. So it will be a tricky task for Real Madrid to lure the Englishman this coming summer.
As for Davies, the Bayern Munich ace has been on Real Madrid’s radar for some time now. The Canadian’s contract with the Bavarian giants expires in 2025, so there have been talks of the Merengues launching a move for him next year.

Harry Kane ‘very close’ to completing Real Madrid move, only final details remain – report

Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid was finally closed earlier today as officially confirmed by Borussia Dortmund on their website. Yet, the offices at Santiago Bernabeu have not even taken a break to celebrate their success.
According to reports from Alfredo Pedullà, Los Blancos are now completely focused on the acquisition of Harry Kane. The English striker’s arrival is very close to approaching closure and only a few details remain to be sorted.
The Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur representatives reportedly held a meeting today over the striker’s transfer. The agenda was to agree on a number for the transfer fee.
The Premier League side began the proceedings with an expectation of €100 to €110 million in exchange for Kane. However, the Merengues suggested a lower point at €80 to €90 million, albeit with the option to include bonuses.
There is not much separating the two parties at the moment, and the minor gap will be bridged in the coming days. Overall, the meeting ended with a broad understanding between the two clubs.
Carlo Ancelotti sees the English striker as the centre-piece of his attack for next season given the recent departure of Karim Benzema. After all, Kane has been one of football’s most consistent goalscorers over the past decade.
Yet, Los Blancos cannot afford to let their guard down with one signing and will need to rope in at least two more names in attack to serve as backup options. The exits of Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard leave them with no squad depth, after all.
Kane has scored 30, 17, and 23 goals in his last three seasons in the Premier League and is the epitome of consistency. Further, he had three assists in his most recent league season and created 14 big chances.
