Real Madrid will consider making a contract offer for forward after World Cup

According to a fresh report from SPORT, Real Madrid will consider the possibility of offering a new contract to Marco Asensio after the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Asensio is in the final year of his contract with Los Blancos and talks over a new deal have stalled for a long time now.
Indeed, as per the report, Real Madrid have not made any contract proposal to the 26-year-old after he joined hands with superagent Jorge Mendes in the summer in order to secure a move away from the club in search of a better wage packet and increased prominence in the team.
But a move failed to materialise and Asensio was forced to stay at Real Madrid. The Spanish international has not been used much by manager Carlo Ancelotti, with the winger largely restricted to substitute appearances.
While he has made 10 appearances across all competitions. the former RCD Mallorca ace has played for a total of 114 minutes only, during which he has also scored a couple of goals, one of which came last night against Elche.
Following the match, Ancelotti insisted that he still has faith in Asensio and added that the winger could play more regularly moving forward.
And now, SPORT is claiming that Real Madrid could consider the possibility of offering a new contract to the 26-year-old, but only after the FIFA World Cup is out of the way.
It is claimed that manager Ancelotti is endorsing Asensio’s continuity at the Santiago Bernabeu, although in case an offer is made, the new contract would not be dissimilar to his current one, with respect to his wages.
There have been shock links to arch-rivals Barcelona, who seem to be interested in signing Asensio on a free transfer next summer. So, it will be intriguing to see what the future holds for the 26-year-old.
For now, he will continue to push for increased involvement under Ancelotti and hope to have a good World Cup with Spain.

Real Madrid have made Man City defensive target a top priority for the summer

Although Antonio Rudiger has had success since joining Real Madrid last summer, the club are in need of more depth and players that can form the backbone of the defensive unit in the years to come.
As part of their plans, Real Madrid are prioritising a move for Josko Gvardiol in the coming summer, reports 90 Min.
The outlet suggests Gvardiol will be one of the most wanted prospects in the market, with both Real Madrid and Manchester City eyeing a move for the Croatian international come the end of the season.
Formerly of Dinamo Zagreb, Gvardiol has enjoyed immense success since his move to the Bundesliga in 2021. He has impressed onlookers with his skill, organisation and discipline, which, coupled with his versatility, make him an appealing target for any European giant.
Gvardiol was also one of the top performers at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, helping Croatia finish third in the competition. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid among the clubs who have been keeping an eye on the defender for a while now.
However, signing Gvardiol will be a tricky task for Los Blancos. The player still has a long-term contract at Leipzig and could cost up to €85 million, as reported by 90 Min. Not to mention, the competition from Man City could be significant.
Real Madrid have no shortage of alternatives, though, with the club notably closely monitoring Portuguese defensive whizkid Antonio Silva, among others. So it will be interesting to see how the Spanish giants approach the market in this coming summer.
