Real Madrid may have arrived at the FIFA World Cup without a single representative in the Spanish national team, but their players have ensured the club remains at the centre of attention throughout the tournament.
Despite travelling to the competition with only 13 players spread across 10 national teams, Los Blancos have emerged as the most influential side in the competition when it comes to individual performances.
With 13 goals and nine MVP awards collected so far, Real Madrid’s stars are setting the standard on football’s biggest stage.
Simply put, no other club has seen its players leave a bigger mark.
Mbappe and Vinicius leading Real Madrid’s World Cup charge
To begin with, Kylian Mbappe has once again proven why he is regarded as one of the elite players in the game, scoring six goals in four appearances for France.
The French captain has also contributed two assists, both arriving during Les Bleus’ final group-stage encounter against Norway.

Furthermore, Vinicius Jr. is not far behind, with the Brazilian winger registering four goals and one assist, finding the net against Morocco, scoring twice against Scotland and adding another strike against Haiti.
Together, Mbappe and Vinicius account for 10 of Real Madrid’s 13 goals in the tournament, highlighting the impact of the club’s attacking stars.
Jude Bellingham has also continued his excellent form. The England international has scored twice, with goals against Croatia and Panama, while also providing an assist in the victory over Panama.
The remaining goal came courtesy of Arda Guler, who impressed despite Turkey’s elimination.
The young attacker scored in Turkey’s 3-2 win over the United States and was rewarded with the MVP award after playing a decisive role in all three goals.

Goals have not been the only measure of Real Madrid’s influence at the World Cup, as the Los Blancos players have also collected more MVP awards than any other club represented at the tournament.

Vinicius currently leads the way with three individual honours, earned during Brazil’s matches against Morocco, Haiti and Scotland.
Mbappé follows with two MVP awards, picked up in France’s victories over Iraq and Sweden.
Bellingham has also secured two, thanks to his displays against Ghana and Panama.
Arda Guler added another for Real Madrid, while Federico Valverde managed to win an MVP award before Uruguay’s elimination.
Brahim Diaz has also played an important role in Morocco’s campaign, contributing two assists as the Atlas Lions progressed to the knockout rounds.
Just to put it in perspective, Barcelona have only seen one goal scored by their players, courtesy of Lamine Yamal, while Atletico Madrid have also managed just a single goal through Alex Baena.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. admits finishing problem after another frustrating night vs Elche: ‘Can’t miss that much’
Vinicius Jr.’s difficult start in front of goal continued against Elche, and the Real Madrid forward did not need anyone to tell him he had missed another chance to make the difference.
The Brazilian finished the night without a goal despite having chances to get on the scoresheet, while his teammates could only watch from the bench as opportunities went begging.
Jose Mourinho had already identified the problem before kick-off, bluntly pointing to the issue facing his forward, stating, “He’s missing the goal.”
Vini offered an equally frank assessment afterwards.
Rather than hide from another frustrating evening, he accepted responsibility on social media: “The goals will come back; I can’t miss that much…”
Two chances, no finish for Vinicius
Vinicius had two particularly clear openings against Elche, but neither produced the finish Real Madrid needed from their star forward.
The first arrived when he found himself one-on-one with the opposition goalkeeper.
Instead of finding the net, Vinicius caught the ball with the tip of his foot and sent his effort wide. Arda Guler was available during the move and called for the ball, but Vini backed himself to finish the chance.
He had another opportunity after the interval, this time following an excellent pass from Guler during a quick Real Madrid transition. Again, though, Vinicius could not find the target.
His evening ended in the 68th minute, with Mourinho deciding the Brazilian was tired and turning his attention towards Sunday’s Atletico Madrid derby.
Mourinho has a bigger decision to make
The numbers show why Vinicius’ finishing has become a talking point. He managed five shots against Elche, but only one was on target and none found the net.
After seven appearances this season, the Brazilian has scored just once, which is a striking return for a player Real Madrid rely upon to provide a major share of their attacking threat.
Ultimately, though, Real Madrid found another route to victory, with Arda Guler, Kylian Mbappe and Carlos Espi providing the goals in the 3-2 comeback.
