Real Madrid have enjoyed a splendid start to the new season, thanks to three back-to-back wins in La Liga. But not everyone is happy with the current scenario.

Luka Modric, for one, finds himself in a precarious position, as the veteran is yet to even start a single game for Real Madrid so far this season.

This is almost unthinkable for any Real Madrid fan, especially considering the fact that Modric has been fully fit.

Modric unhappy with current role

According to Sergio Santos, Modric is unsurprisingly not too happy with his current situation at Real Madrid.

Although it was very expected that the midfielder’s role in the first team would be diluted somewhat, the player perhaps did not imagine he would fall so far behind in the pecking order.

Indeed, Carlo Ancelotti has put his faith in young talents like Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga, as the club look to complete the transition in the midfield department.

This has led to Modric featuring in only 56 minutes of league action so far this season, leading to speculations that the player may even consider leaving the club in January.

Modric wants to fight for his role

Modric, though, is not willing to pack up his bags and leave Real Madrid because of his current role in the squad.

As per the report from Sergio Santos, the former Tottenham superstar wants to fight for his place in the first team.

The midfielder continues to provide his experience and knowledge of the game down to the new players. But he will fight ever so harder during training sessions to convince Ancelotti.

Modric should not have a dearth of opportunities either, especially as Real Madrid look to kickstart their Champions League campaign in the coming month.

Modric is one of my most favorite players for all times. That stated, he should consider the reality now that he is certainly not getting any younger, and although he is still good and has exierience, he should understand when younger players with more strength are guven the chance to compete. They can learn from his experience but if only these younger guys are given the chance to do so.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
